With today's hectic schedules it is often difficult to get a timely appointment with your family doctor. Most physicians' offices are not open evenings and weekends and many do not accept new patients. Visits to hospital emergency departments are expensive and time consuming and many people are reluctant to visit urgent care center because of concerns about the quality of care and impersonal service.
At Neighborhood Medical Center we specialize in family practice. Unlike many urgent care centers that are owned by large corporations and staffed by part-time providers, Neighborhood Medical Center is a family practice with extended hours whose medical director is also the owner and is in the office daily. Dr. Martin McElya is a Dallas native that has practiced in Dallas for more than a decade; he is board certified in family practice and has staff privileges at Medical City of Dallas and Presbyterian Hospitals of Dallas.
From the beginning, his plan was to create a practice that was welcoming and convenient; one that would allow families access to quality medical care and same day service. We can do this because we offer great flexibility in our hours of operation (open 7 days/nights per week). Appointments are welcome, but not required and patients are encouraged to visit us on a walk-in basis at their convenience. Patient wait times are generally short because we utilize a state-of-the-art medical information system that streamlines the process and reduces the likelihood of errors often found in the medical industry.
We understand that our patient's time is as valuable as ours, so our staff moves briskly through the office in order to get patients back to their busy day. In fact, our patients often comment and are amused by the speed at which the staff moves.
Dr. McElya is in the office daily and is involved in every aspect of the operation of Neighborhood Medical Center. He and the clinical staff provide not only high quality medical care, but offer the personal attention that is often lost with large corporate-owned urgent care facilities. Because we specialize in family medicine we are uniquely qualified to address medical concerns in a wide variety of areas; from rashes to back pain and sore throats to broken bones. We have an in-house lab, x-ray and physical therapy; additionally we maintain a Quest Lab draw station for the convenience of our patients.
Neighborhood Medical Center has been established in the community for many years and has established strong ties to many of the areas top specialists. Patients benefit from these relationships because our experts' advice is just a phone call away and this type of relationship is often key to ensuring a prompt patient referral. Many area families rely on us because of our great service and staff. We also offer a fantastic location at the corner of Belt Line Road and Preston Road in North Dallas. Come by at your convenience. Visit our office and meet our friendly staff.
