The purpose behind immigration physicals is to ensure that you’re mentally and physically fit for residency. To gain residency in the US, you need to have a physical performed by a civil surgeon who has been certified by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). During this physical, Dr. McElya evaluates the candidate for the following:
- The presence of communicable diseases
- Vaccination history
- The existence or non-existence of mental disorder(s)
- The presence of possible substance abuse disorders
