What Are Immigration Physicals For?
The purpose behind immigration physicals is to ensure that you’re mentally and physically fit for residency. During this physical, Dr. McElya evaluates the candidate for the following:
- The presence of communicable diseases
- Vaccination history
- The existence or non-existence of mental disorder(s)
- The presence of possible substance abuse disorders
Any disease that requires you to be quarantined or that poses a public health risk to others would make you inadmissible to New Zealand.
How Much Does This Cost?
- For New Zealand Immigration, the cost of an adult (15 years and up) physical is $450 (general) and an adult (limited physical) is $350, plus the cost of vaccinations, if needed.
- The cost of an older child (11-14 years) physical is $250 and a younger child (5-10 years) physical is $100.
- A newborn (0-4 years) physical is $50, plus the cost of vaccines, if needed.
Is There a Physical Examination?
