How Does BOTOX Work?

BOTOX is a type of neuromodulator injectable relaxer that works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected BOTOX solution contains a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A, which relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles. This helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. 

In addition to reducing the appearance of wrinkles, Botox can also help reduce muscle tension in the face, resulting in a more relaxed and youthful appearance. BOTOX is also used to treat medical conditions, such as excessive sweating, muscle spasms, and migraines. Results can begin to become visible 24 to 48 hours after the injection however, full results can be seen within two weeks.

How Long Does BOTOX Last?

The effects of BOTOX typically last for up to three to six months. After the injection, it may take up to two weeks for BOTOX to start taking full effect. While the effects of BOTOX can last for up to six months, individuals may need to receive additional injections over time to maintain the desired results.

Over time, the muscles may become accustomed to BOTOX, and the effects may not last as long as initially experienced. Additionally, the amount of time that the effects of BOTOX last can vary from person to person depending on their lifestyle, genetics, and other factors.
